Zodiac Wars

The Zodiac, Astrological signs humans use to predict the fate and personality of others. What humans fail to realize though is that these spirits are real and they live within both the heavens and the hearts of humans alike.

Their are two sets of Zodiac, the Eastern and the Western. As the two earthly worlds came together the Zodiac became more and more aware of one another's presence in the hearts of humans. Each of the two Zodiacs became jealous of the other, and they began to fight for control over the humans.

The Zodiacs have been fighting for several centuries now, with neither side giving an inch. Their stalemate has torn nations apart and driven men insane. But the heavens, finally weary of this pointless and futile conflict have devised a "contest" for the spirits of the Zodiac. The Rules are simple: Each Zodiac may chose one human that best represents the spirits traits. The spirits are then able to bestow a gift unto that human, but they may only choose humans from the spirits home land. Last group standing wins.

And so...

The final war of the Zodiacs has begun.

(Players post below)

Westerners Post:

"Where the hell are we?" Jack asked the Servant that had come to greet them.

"Well ain't he the cutest?!" Kimmie shrieked, throwing her arms around the butler in a hug. "Nice clothes.." she said, pinching a bit of his shirt and tugging on it, as if testing it to see if it was real.

Alex looked around him again. He felt oddly distant from everything around him. The suits of armour weren't real, the map wasn't real, the butler wasn't real. And yet at the same time everything was real and distinct, too real.

"Please, don't do that again. There are a variety of other men in this facility for you to hug as well as preform a number of various other activities with." The man brushed off his suite as he spoke then turned to Jack, "As for were we are, we are currently in the western half of the Ethereal realm."

Kimmie gave a pouting frown as she backed away from the butler, crossing her arms. "Party pooper.." she muttered. "No one here likes me yet."

Alex turned toward the butler, thinking. "What do you mean 'other men in this facility for you to hug as well as preform a number of various other activities with'?" His brow arched slightly, quizzically.

The Servant turned to Alex and gave him a quick look up and before continuing, "We have a number of women for you as well, young sir. The heavens have ordered us to make your stay int eh Ethereal realm as pleasent as possible. After all: Eat, drink, and be merry."

Alex expression was one of surprise, and then of disbelief. "This is ridiculous." But as he said this his stomach seemed to growl on cue. "I'll skip the women but what was it about that eating a and drinking you were speaking of?"

"We have a wonderful dinning room for you that carries an assortment of foods. Anything from gyros to hamburgers we can get for you sir. I can read the way right now to all who are interested." The servant made a slight motion out the door when he finished.

The butlers words finally clicked in Jack's head as to where he had heard them before. "It'd better be good." He stretched and prepared to follow the butler. "For tomorrow we shall die." he gave a warm smile and slight following to Kimmie as he walked towards the door.

Roumen also moved towards the door, for though he was mildly unnerved by Jack's remark, he was undeniably very hungry.

Alex had already followed after the butler oblivious and uncaring what the others chose to do. He wasn't usually so selfish, he tried very hard not to be in fact, but he had no connection with these people and no one had given him a reason to try.

Kimmie licked her lips at the thought of food and quickly bounced (quite literally, bounced) after them, folding her hands behind her back. "I'd like to try some traditional renaissance food!" she chimed. "Like peacock and roasted boar with fresh fruits.." she trailed off with a dreamy look, imagining herself in a lovely princess' gown at a long banquet table with handsome princess coming and serving her elaborate foods and praising her beauty. She sighed.

The dining hall was very large and rather expansive once they reached it. The roof was a few stories above the groups head, and their were a number of large rectangular tables situated through out the hall. On the East and South sides of the room a large bar sat about six feet away from the wall where the staff worked on making an arrangement of food. This gave way to an assortment of beautiful aromas wafting through the air.

Alex did not stop to take in his surroundings, but saluted to the butler and headed straight for the food.

Roumen followed suit, somewhat out of curiosity but mostly out of extreme hunger.

"What can I get for you gentlemen?" A rather large and gruff cheif asked as he finished cleaning his hands on a cloth.

"Ummmm..." Roumen mumbled, having difficulty deciding, "Maybe just a really large...salad! With some tomatoes." He paused, "And a bit of information would be nice as well, if possible."

"Well the salad should be easy enough," The chief walked over to what looked like a salad bar and scooped up the leaves and tomatoes into a large wooden bowl. The man started mixing up the salad with a grace that betrayed his outward image. "I'm not too sure about the information though."

Kimmie wandered absently to a part of the table that was farther than the group and picked at a bunch of grapes. She popped one into her mouth and chewed silently, looking around. "Such strange goings on.." she muttered.

Jack looked around the room at all the wonderful foods being prepared and then at the steel claw still snuggly wrapped on his fist. He then laughed manically for several minutes. "This is going to be sweet!" He exclaimed to himself as he began to multiply with the weapon until twelve Jacks were running about the room grabbing food and then sitting down at one large table eating and drinking with himself.

Roumen stared wide-eyed at the ever so numerous Jack's around the room, with no idea how to comprehend such a thing. He looked over at the others, in some hope of explanation, or at least in hopes that they had managed to remain singular beings.

It took the rest of the group a few seconds to get over the initial shock of seeing the Jacks run about the room, but after shock the smells wafting around the room got to a few of the other members got up the courage to try some of the food as well. "Was there anywhere else some of you wanted to go?" the butler asked while waiting patiently to the side.

Several minutes passed without a reply to the man before he finally decided that everyone seemed to be satisfied with the dinning hall. "If anyone needs anything you can simply ring one of these bells that's found around the castle." and with that he took his leave.

Easterners Post:

The dining hall on the Eastern end was much the same. The only real changes was that this one was more elaborate in design, with a few silk tapestries hanging from the walls and finely made table cloths.

"Fancy." Kohaku commented, his voice echoing a bit in the expansive room. "It looks like you were expecting an army."

"These castles are home to many souls that are not quite ready for the next level of the afterlife. More likely than not many of the spirits kept here have some sort of attachment to the physical plane of existence." The woman guided the group over to where the side bar on the Southern side of the room as she talked.

"Wait.......so this...what we're in...is the afterlife?.and these spirits...when you say 'attachment' do you mean astral projection?" Atsu asked as his gaze drifted everywhere, still a little nervous, which showed in his slow strides.

"So.. Who are you, exactly?" Hao asked the woman.

The Servant Girl started with Atsu first, "No, we are not in the afterlife. Think of it more along the lines of Purgatory, a place where the souls of the departed may find peace and cleanse their soul in preparation for the afterlife. As for the attachments, they can be anything from wishing to say good by to one of those who is still among the living, or regrets about there life that keep them bound to the mortal plane. Forever looking back until they are finally ready to move on." Moving on to Hao's question she turned to face him and gave a little introduction bow. "I am Hyun-seo, a Guide ordered by the Heavens to help you become adjusted to your new surroundings before you go to war with the westerners."

"What is the purpose of this war? Why are we to fight?" Hao asked another question, having given up fighting reality.

"And here I was raised to believe that purgatory was a bad place full of absolutely nothing for lost damned souls.." Atsu whispered to himself, listening to Hao's questions.

Hyun-seo looked at Hao rather weirdly, "Did the heavens not tell you anything? You are here to end a war that has been ravaging this world and your own for centuries."

"So what happens now?" Kohaku asked, pausing in the middle of filling his plate. Swallowing a dumpling he had just shoved in his mouth, he continued, "I mean, when and where are we to fight?"

Hao sighed impatiently. "No. What started the war? The reason for all of this. And what does the victor get? You can't honestly expect us to kill other humans for the sake of saying 'nah, nah, we're the best'," he said in rush. He wasn't good with people who annoyed him.

Hyun-seo looked at Hao, looked around the room, then back at Hao. "It doesn't seem like you've been given much choice. As for time and place, I believe that is up to you." She turned to face Kohaku to answer her question.

"Where is the library, you're not answering my questions," Hao said, sighing heavily with annoyance.

Kohaku blinked. "You're making no sense, obaa-sama. When you put it like that, we wouldn't have to fight at all within our lifetimes."

"The spirits have chosen you for a reason, they trust you and the choices you'll make." She said to Kohaku, but then she turned on Hao. "The library was one of the stops on our little tour to begin with. If you'll simply be patient we will arrive their shortly after we reach the herbal garden." The girl then turned to the group. "If anyone would like to come with us to he herbal garden your more than welcome to join us, and after that we'll be moving on to the library, but if you'd like to stay and eat your also more than welcome to the food."

After listening to her announcement several members went off into the lines for food while others stayed in line to see the rest of the tour.

Hyun-seo made her way to the herbal garden with whatever was left of the group. The garden was just beyond the courtyard of the castle, with a beautiful overlay of the land and forests that rested just before the River separating the two sides of the realm. There were many exotic flowers and other types of plant that that seemed to almost litter the garden.

After waiting for everyone to get situated in the garden Hyun-Seo began explaining the different kinds of plants and what they could be used for. There were some tall exotic ones that could make wonderful poisons as well as some short scrubby little herbs that could be used for healing.

Hao nodded along with the woman as she spoke, walking around making mental notes of each plant she explained. He even stopped at times to inquire about plants.

Down towards the garden came a blond-haired young man calmly walking, carrying a travel pack on his back and a gentle serene smile as he notices the crowd he starts walking down towards them. "I wonder if there is any possible jobs here.. Or at least some interesting people."

"Oh, did you get separated from us?" Hyun-seo asked turning over to the man. "It would be in your best interest not to get lost in the castle." A warm greeting smile came to her face as she brought him into the rest of the group.

Domera Kindarou blinked. "Eh? Do I know you?"
